About Baroda

Home of Casual Country Charm

Baroda, Michigan, incorporated in 1907, has a rich and full history.  The Village was originally platted in 1860 when Michael Hauser, a pioneer from the Midwest, came to Michigan and staked out 240 acres with the hopes of establishing a town.

Baroda is nestled in the center of Berrien County in southwest Michigan, amidst farmland, wineries and antiques and is a rural treasure.  The Village is home to just under 900 residents and the slogan, “Casual Country Charm,” says a lot about the community.  Our quaint brick main street reminds you of an era long ago, when life wasn’t so busy.

Baroda is also home to two beautiful parks. The Village Park is located along Hickory Creek and offers public tennis courts, basketball courts and playground equipment. There is also a picnic pavilion. Join us for an afternoon of music and relaxation at the Baroda Village Park on Sunday June 22, July 27 and August 24. Bring your picnic lunch and blanket or lawn chairs and listen to the music and visit with friends. All programs will begin at 2:00 p.m. Baroda Township is home to Hess Lake Park, a beautiful 29-acre park with nature trails, fishing on Hess Lake, soccer fields, baseball fields, and a covered pavilion.

Baroda is also known for their spectacular fireworks display every July 3rd at the Legion field. While waiting for the fireworks to start, there is live music and a Beer Tent and food booth available at the Legion for your enjoyment.

The Saturday after Labor Day is Barodafest! This annual festival is filled with fun for the whole family. Start the day with a delicious pancake breakfast, a 5KRun/Walk, children’s games, parade, car show, tractor pull, arts and crafts, baked goods, and live entertainment all day. This small-town homey festival winds down with evening music and dancing under the stars.
